This policy explains the personal information Wela processes in South Africa and Kenya for account access, ticketing, event operations and organizer communications.
Applicable privacy laws
Wela aims to process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act and Kenya's Data Protection Act, according to where the attendee or organizer is located.
Information we process
We process account details, contact information, calendar follows, ticket orders, payment status, ticket transfers, waitlist contacts and door-validation records. Payment card details are entered on the PayGenius hosted page and are not stored by Wela.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate accounts, issue and deliver tickets, validate entry, maintain attendee and organizer records, prevent fraud, respond to support requests and send communications that the recipient has requested or consented to receive.
Service providers
Wela may use PayGenius for hosted payments, SendGrid for email and Twilio for WhatsApp delivery. Provider use depends on production configuration and each provider processes information under its own terms.
Your choices
You can unfollow calendars, opt out of marketing, request correction of account details and ask for deletion where retention is not required for financial, fraud-prevention or event-operation records.
